Here are my favorites:
1.Chapstick Moisturizer in Vanilla Mint- it soothes lips, makes lips tingle, keeps lips moisturized, and smells/tastes G R E A T ! This one provides SPF 15
2.Aquafina Flavor Splash(comes in a pack with Citrus Blend, Wild Berry, Rasberry, and Regular)- these really moisturize lips, however they can smell a bit medicated. Does not protect against the sun
3.Softlips(any flavor is great!)- very moisturizing, and the tubes are nice to look at. This was my favorite until i tried the Chapstick brand. I don't remember if this had SPF in it.
4.Caramex-it smells very medicated, but it works wonders on dry, chapped, burning lips.Best lip balm/chap stick??
Blistex Silk %26amp; Shine. It comes in a gray tube. Or if you want something that would give your lips a little more color, try Chapstick in the strawberry or cherry flavors.They're in pink and red tubes. You can find the blistex anywhere, and the chapstick is at walmart

Whats the best lip balm/chapstick/gloss for you liips that really mosturizers them and makes them soft and not chapped but also looks great on?Lip balm/chap stick/gloss?

After you're done rubbing your lips a little bit, put on some thick lip balm, like Blistex, Carmax, or petroleum jelly. Do this every other day to every two days. It will help :)

Ok, well I MAY be able to help. That is a pretty big list though, and all of those things are main ingredients in alot of lip chaps.
So MY favorite, for getting rid of chapped lips (used to get chapped lips all the time.. then i started using this, fixed it and i've never got it again) and all natural not tested on animals and no fragrance is
Burts Bees Beeswax Lip Balm.
Its in a stick form.
It contains:
Cera Abla (i think cera is wax so I'm assuming thats the beeswax)
Cocos nucifera (aka coconut.. can't taste it though),
helianthus annuus (sunflower),
Mentha Peperita (pepermint),
Tocopheryl acetate %26amp; tocopherol (don't know what that is but this is all natural so it will be the scientific name for something)
lanolin (Ok, its there, but far far down on the list)
And symphytum officinale root extract,
rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract (aka rosemary)
That a whole lot of things you don't want, and it meets all of those except for the lanolin. Its tasty, i can't explian the taste, not coconut, maybe a LITTLE minty, but not strong. Nothing artificial. Not dyed (its off-white), No animal or animal testing, no collagen, no petroleum... Just a little lanolin but far far down on the list
GIve it a try, its seriously amazing and like, everyone's favorite lip balm that i've suggested it to :)Even if you don't like it.. It's worth a try!

Polysporin has a medicated lip baum out now that will undo some of the damage.

Exfoliating will remove the already chaped part but the new skin will be more likely to chap than the chapped part. Not fun.

when your brushing your teeth, gently brush the dry skin off lips as well, it will keep your lips more silky for longer..because it gets rid of layers of dry skin that caused a 'chapped' feeling

aquaphor works best for me. one problem could be how often you apply the chapstick though, people easily become dependent on chapstick and therefore their lips actually get chapped faster. use something different on your lips like aquaphor or vaseline or blistex and apply those a lot less often than you would the chapstick youre using now. for a more immediate fix it always works when i scrub my lips using a towel and my regular facewash ( i use cetaphil) and then put on aquaphor.. theyre so smooth and right away.
After getting out of the shower or washing your face, take a towel and gently rub your lips. This will help to get the dead skin off. That's what's making your lips dry. After you're done rubbing your lips a little bit, put on some thick lip balm, like Blistex, Carmax, or petroleum jelly. Do this every other day to every two days. It will help :)

For serious healing, Vapo Rub, but it tastes yucky. It's good for feet and elbows too. Just be careful to keep it out of your eyes. The store brand or the cheap kind at Deals is fine. Slop it on your feet, put on socks and you'll have really smooth heals in the morning.

My kids get this every winter. They look like clowns. Just keep them moist at home with vasaline(slosh it on, all around your mouth,dont be wimpy) and chapstick all the time when you go out. Dont lick them. It'll go away. Just takes time. Keep it up or it will come back.

If you have sensitive skin, use camphor-based medicated lip balms sparingly. also, vaseline could work too. if ur lips are peeling, and the products i mentioned above dont help ur lips, then u might have an allergic reaction to ur toothpaste, food,drinks, or medication that u are taking.

My kids get this every winter. They look like clowns. Just keep them moist at home with vasaline(slosh it on, all around your mouth,dont be wimpy) and chapstick all the time when you go out. Dont lick them. It'll go away. Just takes time. Keep it up or it will come back.

I used to have dry lips but I apply vaseline every night before I go bed and in the mornings when I wake up and about a month after I started my lips no longer needed it because they were never dry but I do it anyway, it's become a habit.
So try doing Vaseline every night but not as your main daytime lip balm.
Make your own... it's much better for your lips and it works well.
Get some beeswax, coconut oil, and essential oil (if you want flavour... I mix 2 drops of peppermint with 2 drops of cinnamon leaf)
Melt 1 tsp beeswax, mix with 1 tsp coconut oil and essential oil, fill the container you wish to use, let harden and then use,
Or, buy chap stick brand lip balms... they work pretty decent.

Without a doubt, the best lip balm ever. They have tinted lip balms and lip shimmers and lip glosses too. Some of that stuff you'll have to maybe buy off the internet, though. Drug stores and Wal-mart have the plain lip balm and sometimes the lip shimmers. I've seen stuff at Cracker Barrel too.

Why is only my upper lip chapped?
I realize this is bizarre, btw.
But ever since I went to the dentist on monday, my upper lip has been really dry, and no amount of chapstick helps. And it only seems to be getting worse. I got fitted for a new retainer at the dentist so maybe it had something to do with the molding stuff? My lower lip is fine, so I'm really confused, lol.Why is only my upper lip chapped?

just keep applying it once it feels kind of dry, until it doesn't dry up anymore.

Lip gloss never stays on for me, and my lips are really chapped, so I was wondering what tinted or colored lip balms would work well. Through the last few years I have tried both the sticks and overnight treatments of: Blistex, ChapStick, Vaseline.

Drink more water and use a natural, non-petroleum based product on your lips. Out of the ones you have mentioned, Burts Bees is the best but you have to keep hydrated, out of the wind. the product will help prevent peeling, but once you're already peeling, it will only help to protect your lips but it won't make the damage disappear or go away. It needs to follow it's natural cycle. Also, make sure you're not licking your lips as this will cause them to dry and chap even faster.What is the best lip balm for chapped lips?

Carmex really cover and seal in moisture. I am dealing with the same issue. I also like to use C.O. Bigelow's lip balm from Bath and Body Works. I hope they work for you.

Try exfoliating them before you go to bed, to get rid of dead cells. After brushing your teeth, you could just scrub your lips with your toothbrush after. Just not too hard. Then lubricate your lips when some moisture is freshly locked in your cells. I like Carmex, as do many others apparently. I hope this works.

brush ur lips with a toothbrush and apply a large lump of vaseline over night in the morning you will see what a significant difference it has made, ive tried evey lip balm ranign from blistex lush,body shop to big department stores lip balms (clinque,mac)
take any favorite lip balm, chapstick whatever you want to call it.
Put it on your lips, get a wash cloth put warm water on it and then press your lips over the wash cloth (hard) for 10 seconds. Then put your lip balm or chapstick on again.
Another way to sure this problem, is to take a hot wash cloth and run your lips. This helps exfoliate the lips and all the blood goes there and creates nice luscious red lips, and a little puffier, without the botox!

Maybe its your toothpaste... I have had a reaction to tartar control toothpaste that made my gums, lips and the skin around them peel.
you might try giving your lips a break from moisturizing, maybe even lightly exfoliate them before bed. when we train our bodies to expect things they stop doing what they would normally do without them. hence, people who wash their hair every day don't have enough oil in it and so their scalp produces more, forcing them to wash their hair everyday. A vicious cycle. :)

Use regular Vaseline - not the stick or overnight treatment, but the greasy stuff that comes in a tub. Slather it on your lips every night before bed, and they will get noticeably better soon.
When I have a dry spot on my lips that won't seem to go away with chapstick, I rub some really moisture intensive hand cream into my lips a few times a day. The kinds that leave your hands feeling waxy or filmy seem to hold the moisture longer. Once the dryness goes away, switch back to chapstick as a preventative. If this is a persistant problem, make sure you're not licking your lips. When they are chapped, it seems natural to lick them to relieve the dryness or pain, which just makes the problem worse. If the problem is really bad, see a doctor

add salt to the water (about a teaspoon) and mix for a few seconds.
then, soak your lip in the water.
I know, this will hurt. Salt kills bacteria immediatly and it will heal your lip in just a day or so.
I also recommend putting on lip ointment (not chapstick) a few times a day and avoid lipgloss and all that stuff.What can I do about my really chapped lip?

I'm not sure if your female or male but stop wearing your current brand of lipstick...if thats not the case the MD said to use crisco yes in the baking isle so it will lock in moisture and also they said hydrocortisone ointment not the cream its over the counter and the store brand worked wonders for me good luck
Keep is covered with some kind of chap stick. I have a bad problem with this myself. If you laugh or smile too big its the worst. The best product that I have found is Mary Kay's Lip balm. It has no flavor or fragrance and it works really well. If you don't know any MK people just try plain old Vaseline. Use it all day, but be sure you use a good coat before you go to bed. You will not be moving your mouth so it will have time to heal and not re-split from laughing or talking. Hope this help and good luck to you.

Always go with the original chapstick or burt's bees, and as for lip color, definitely do like a pink, i suggest something from Covergirl, their outlast lip stain is amazing. Use the chapstick first then put on the lip gloss, it always works for me.

Use Netrogena lip balm with SPF everyday, especially when you are out. Works very well for me. Love it. You can use a toothbrush and gently brush your lips to remove the dead skin. Before you sleep every night, use Vaseline to coat your lips. You will wake up to baby soft lips the next morning!

i really like soft lips spf 20 the have all kinds of flavors but my favorite is vanilla i put it on everynight before i go to bed. about right after i wash my face. they sell it at target in the tooth brush section. or you could try burts bees. its a lip stick but also chap stick my mom has it. they have different colors. i like it a lot. i am not really sure were they sell that. so i recomment the softlips spf20 vanilla.

water and lotion.. very little lotion and rub lips together just make sure not to get any in your mouth. carmex and burts works really well. lip gloss works good. also make sure you drink plenty of water and apply something mostiurzing to your lips every night and every morning and throughout the day as needed. i usually put stuff on every night even if i dont need it so it prevents chap-ness in the first place :)
I have chapped lips too. buy Blistex it's medicated and works really fast. if you have like a super important event or whatever, take sugar and rub it on them. its makes them softer and afterwards but on a beeswax chapstick kinda thing.
NEVER pick them or lick them. bleeding and even drier lips ew.

water and lotion.. very little lotion and rub lips together just make sure not to get any in your mouth. carmex and burts works really well. lip gloss works good. also make sure you drink plenty of water and apply something mostiurzing to your lips every night and every morning and throughout the day as needed. i usually put stuff on every night even if i dont need it so it prevents chap-ness in the first place :)
I have chapped lips too. buy Blistex it's medicated and works really fast. if you have like a super important event or whatever, take sugar and rub it on them. its makes them softer and afterwards but on a beeswax chapstick kinda thing.
NEVER pick them or lick them. bleeding and even drier lips ew.

Lip chap problem, dead skin?
Ok i have blistex and i drink plenty of water... now i get to where my lips are smooth then in like the next day they start to have dead skin on the edges ... do i just leave the dead skin there? if i try to pick just the littlest of dead skin i mess up and have a even bigger patch of dead skin, if i leave the skin there will it smooth out with the rest of my lips in its own? I mean i dont want to have dead skin lips while attending school. Also when I take showers or drink beverages my lips turn very soft and whiten a bit, there very sensitive just like the littlest touch of my hand i can see some of the skin come off.... do i like rub that type of skin off? or just leave it to dry in and don't touch it?

Yes, it is addictive. It's kinda like nasal spray, if you use it too much, you can't function without it. The only way to stop comfortably is to replace it with something more natural like butter, or liquid vitamin E for instance, that doesn't strip your lips of their natural oils. once you can go a few days without chap stick stop using products on your lips!I am addicted to chap stick, lip balm, etc. What now?

no need to seek help just remember that chap stick and lipstick and gloss are made out of pig fat and whale blubber..... *YUCK* how else would it slide on so easily!

try Palmolive aluvera cream. it is not greecy and very effective
LOL, It is addictive isn't it!!?? Maybe you are deyhydrated and yo need the chapstick all the time? Try drinking more water then your lips will be softer naturally instead of always having to apply lip balm. That or try and and find a CA meeting (chapstick anonoymous ;)

people may think it annoying, applying balm all the time, i don't bloody care! it pays to have a nice, soft, kissable smackers!
and one thing: if you admit that you have addiction, then it's not a problem anymore
For goodness sake, you need to kick that chap-stick habit! I had a friend who was horribly addicted to the stuff- she used it so often that she eventually had to wear it on a string around her neck. My suggestion is to go cold turkey but make sure you drink enough water to prevent dehydration. Cure the cracked-lip problem at it's source!
I have the same problem, I go nuts if I don't have chap stick, I used to be the same way with gum though it was like a cigarette addiction for me but I think that was because of the aspartame and phenylkurit...stuff in it, it's totally bad for you!! so I had to wean myself off of it or go to a natural food store and find gum that didnt have that in it. I don't think the chap stick thing is that bad of a problem, but try petroleum jelly (vaseline) instead, that works pretty good :)
Yes, it is addictive. It's kinda like nasal spray, if you use it too much, you can't function without it. The only way to stop comfortably is to replace it with something more natural like butter, or liquid vitamin E for instance, that doesn't strip your lips of their natural oils. once you can go a few days without chap stick stop using products on your lips!I am addicted to chap stick, lip balm, etc. What now?

Nope your not weird, I can say the same thing, have 'um all over my house in my purse, in my coat pockets, it bothers me to have dry lips.
In the winter I chap easy and in the summer I burn easy.
Sorry I have no 12 step program to send you to, but I do have a bit of advise, go with it, do what I do go to the dollar store buy a few a time and put one in every place you'll know you need it, I have one sitting by the computer.

When you feel the need to use lip balm.....go suck on a Popsicle instead, or something, that way your lips are in use and it will take your mind off of your problem.
Get some Burt's Bees Lip Balm. It is beeswax-based and very good. Carmex dries them out even more, causing 'addiction'.
I think u r just the type that likes to keep your lips in tip top shape. theres nothing wrong with that. some people care less

Your panic thing is mental, not physical. You need to treat the real problem.
If you don't want to use lip balm, then don't use it as often as you are. If your lips HURT, then use it. I don't think you're going to die or anything.
try and put butter on your lips instead of chaps . lol it might stop your addictions .
Well, if it is really an addiction, then you should get off of it like any other addiction and that is just stop using it no matter how much your lips hurt or how crazy you go, just stop it.
