I thought lip gloss was to moisturize lips, rather than to dry them out.Why do your lips chap after applying lip gloss?
Well it all depends on the texture of your lips before you put the lip gloss on.
If your lips were chapped before you you applied the lip gloss then they will still be chapped and that just looks gross.
You need to make sure you take good care of your lips.
PS: lipstick is especially drying.
I put vaseline on my lips every night before bed so I get enhanced mositure and chapstick in the morning while I'm putting on the rest of my make-up.
Also, you know how you are supposed to exfoliate your face?
Do your lips a favor and exfoliate them too!Why do your lips chap after applying lip gloss?
If you use a lip plumper , it will dry your lips out. Also, Lip gloss is based on oils and they stay on the top layer of your skin. Lip balms on the other hand go farther than just your top lip layer. They are not glossy but have a slight glimpse to them
lip gloss just makes your lips shinier, they're not to moisturize them, if you want them moisturized then use chap stick.
i use chap stick then put on lip gloss but i'm more of a chap stick person cause they still give you shine but not as much as lip gloss, while still helping your dry lips :)
lip gloss is to color your lips not moistruise, however I know that the mary kay ones are over 80% conditioners and I have never had problems with them. If you need to hydrate chapped lips use a lip BALM rather than a gloss.
Any time you moisturize your lips, all of the dead skin starts to come off to allow the fresh, new skin underneath to come through. Exfoliate your lips, and continue to wear lip gloss.
Lip gloss does not moisturize its just a coating on your lip to make them shiny, you need to put a balm on before applying the gloss I use rosebud salve
EDIT: What idiot gave me a thumbs down?
